This depends on your desired purpose for your bibs. If you have a newborn and are looking strictly for spit up/drool needs then a softer bib made of cotton is ideal. Your baby would wear this type of bib for several hours a day and you would want something comfortable for baby to play and move in.

Silicon and other waterproof bibs can last longer when it comes to washing but could deteriorate quickly if the attachment type is weak. The age of your child will also change how long bibs last. Older children may pull off bibs more frequently causing attachments to break easily. The bottom line is that most bibs, all of the above included, should last you several months if taken care of properly.
